What's FIRST?

FIRST, or For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, was founded in 1989 to promote an interest in STEM among students. They run a series of robotics and engineering competitions for kindergarten through 12th grade, cultivating a passion for computer programming and engineering.

Hosted by FIRST, FTC is a robotics competition where students in grades 7-12 come together to design, build, and program a robot. The season starts with a kick-off in September, with competitions from November to March.

Every year, FTC announces a new theme for the robotics competitions. With each theme come new objectives and guidelines, making each year's robot completely different. The theme for the 2020-2021 season is Ultimate Goal

All of our team members are part of NJ STEM Girls. The student-led organization helps support girls on New Jersey FTC robotics teams--members lead presentations, help each other with aspects of the project, and attend mixers.
